Bridgewater Logistics’ mantra has always been “people, performance and partnerships”. They are fundamental pillars and key drivers of the company’s ongoing success in the South African transport and logistics, as well as warehousing and distribution markets, and proudly reflected in the company logo.
All three were again highlighted at this year’s Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) workshop, where Bridgewater Logistics was invited to present on its internal skills and capabilities, as well as new developments and milestones.
Importantly, Quinton de Villiers, managing director of Bridgewater Logistics, also used the event to invite businesses to partner the company to help combat growing incidences of transport and logistics-related crimes in the country. This includes cargo theft and incidences of truck hi-jackings.
“Crime continues to grow in South Africa, yet we have been very successful in facing the problem head-on. We are, therefore, looking forward to working with companies that require a secure and comprehensive transport and logistics solution,” De Villiers told the many delegates from a myriad of industries that attended the workshop at Emperor’s Palace in November.
Bridgewater Logistics’ presentation was entitled Bridging the security divide, highlighting the company’s extensive security background that is harnessed in developing a comprehensive transport and logistics solution for its clients.
Joining Bridgewater Logistics at the event was sister company, Havensec Solutions, a security specialist. The subsidiary monitors Bridgewater Logistics’ warehouses using CCTV cameras and the many vehicles in its fleet that have been fitted with Pulsit Electronics tracking devices.
De Villiers says that Bridgewater Logistics’ partnership with Pulsit Electronics is a sound example of a typical business relationship the company strives to nurture with its various supply-chain suppliers.
Pulsit Electronics is a specialist in vehicle tracking and fleet-management solutions, which have been designed on next-generation GPS/GPRS and GPS/Satellite-tracking systems. They have played an important part in helping Bridgewater Logistics provide a secure transport and logistics service to its clients.
“We consider a partnership successful when it adds immense value to our own skills and capabilities, driving excellent performance. This, in turn, ensures that Bridgewater Logistics establishes even stronger ties with its clients. It really is all about ‘people, performance and partnerships’,” he concludes.
